Weekes Forest Products acquires Snavely Distribution
Saint Paul — Tom Le Vere, President of Saint Paul-based Weekes Forest Products has announced the acquisition of Snavely Forest Products. Snavely, founded in 1902, operates distribution facilities in Pittsburgh; Westminster, Md; Greensboro, N.C.; Dallas; and Denver. Weekes, founded in 1978, currently has distribution centers in Saint Paul; Fargo; Green Bay and Jackson, Wisc.; Riverdale, Ill.; Comstock Park, Mich.; and Tampa Fla. as well as a trading office in Saint Paul.
“We are thrilled to add a premier company like Snavely Forest Products to our two-step distribution family of companies. It’s rare to find a company such as Snavely Forest Products that has developed a culture of honesty, trust and reliability over more than 100 years of service to their customers and suppliers. There are many synergies between our two companies,” Le Vere said. “The footprint of the Snavely distribution centers is a perfect extension to our own with no geographic overlap.”
Combined, Snavely and Weekes will service 17 states with lumber and building materials.
Steve Snavely, CEO of Snavely Forest Products, added, “we are very excited to be part of Weekes Forest Products. Weekes’ and Snavely’s vendors and customers can be sure that the level of professionalism and service both companies represent will be stronger than ever as a result of this transaction.”
The transaction is expected to close early in Q1 of 2018. Financial terms were not disclosed.
